While Philip is a Civil Practitioner, that has not always been the case. He had a unique pupillage which was primarily a mix of Crime, Planning and Environmental Law. Philip has still retained a private criminal and regulatory practice relating mainly to alleged driving offences.

Philip has historically appeared for the defence as a led junior in relation to the most serious Murders and other grave offences. It was before the criminal courts he honed his cross-examination skills before becoming a leading civil barrister.

With this background, Philip can pull together the civil and criminal threads. He thrives on being able to bring these matters before criminal courts. Licensing, planning or even driving offences, he is equally adept, as he is appearing before regulatory bodies on behalf of professionals.

Clients often find themselves in difficult situations, which may need fighting or diffusing in or out of court. Either option is available, and both are supported by guidance concerning the law and tactical advice to obtain the best possible outcome.
