Professional Negligence

Professional Negligence is an area of law in which Philip has a significant advisory and trial experience. His litigation experience, coupled with his scientific and sporting background, allows him to defend such claims robustly.

He has significant experience of claims against Architects, Insolvency Practitioners, Solicitors, Doctors and Dentists. Matters that end up in the High Court typically require a robust and fearless approach.

Recent instructions

Philip was recently instructed to advise in relation to a claim against one of the biggest law firms in England and Wales. The claim was for many millions of pounds because the law firms admitted negligent drafting of important agreements.

He was instructed to pursue a firm of Solicitors who committed significant fraud involving conveyancing transactions. The matters were extremely complicated because of the factual and historical issues, as well as limitations. He was against Queens Counsel.

Philip also advised Claimants through their insurance provider in relation to the alleged incompetency of Architects relating to a building project in the North of England whereby the builder went bankrupt and left the Claimants vulnerable.

Clients often find themselves in difficult situations, which may need fighting or diffusing in or out of court. Either option is available, and both are supported by guidance concerning the law and tactical advice to obtain the best possible outcome.
